One of the four men charged for the torture and horrific killing of two kangaroos has appeared in Joondalup Magistrates Court today.

Dylan Leslie Griffin today pleaded guilty to possession of things intended to inflict cruelty and ill treatment to an animal.

In addition to Mr Griffin’s charges, Aveley man Ricky Ian Swan, 28, Woodvale man Ben Jaydon Halpuss, 26, and Luke Kevin Dempster, 26, were also charged after a WA Police investigation into sickening mobile phone footage of the gruesome attacks.

WA Police alleged on May 19, 22-year-old Griffin shot a kangaroo in the eye after one of the co-accused chased it down and stabbed it repeatedly.

The footage that is too graphic for police to release, shows a group of laughing men setting fire to a kangaroo before brutally kicking, punching it and beating it with knuckle dusters.

In a final abominable act, the men are filmed spitting on the roos after their deaths.

Ricky Ian Swan will be sentenced on 28 November, 2018.

Mr Griffin’s fate will be delivered by Magistrate Young on January 14, 2019.
