Four Men Charged Over Two Cases Of Alleged Kangaroos Torture

Four people have been charged after Joondalup Detectives investigated the torture and death of two kangaroos which happened back in 19th, May and 16th, June this year.

Police will allege the men tortured one kangaroo by burning, shot with a firearm, spat and kicked. The kangaroo was then held by a man, and punched a number of times by a man wearing knuckle dusters.

Authorities further alleged the men tortured another kangaroo by stabbing it with a knife over 20 times before the kangaroo was kicked to the head.

A 22 year old man from Bullsbrook, a 28 year old man from Aveley, 26 year old man from Woodvale, were charged with Cruelty to Animals; and Possession of Things Intended to Inflict Cruelty.

Police also alleged the 26 year old Wanneroo man who was allegedly involved with both kangaroo cruelty incidences, allegedly tortured an adult chicken by placing it on fire using an accelerant on the 31st, March, 2018.

A small explosive device was detonated causing injury to the chicken.

The 26 year old man from Wanneroo was charged with three counts of Cruelty to Animals; and Possession of Things Intended to Inflict Cruelty.

The appeared at the Joondalup Magistrates Court today.
