Assassins Creed goes Caribbean

Ubisoft’s wildly successful franchise is letting players don the cape once more and take up the mantle of an assassin in the latest edition of Assassins Creed: Black Flag.

Whilst the original trilogy followed the trails and tribulations of Desmond Miles, Ubisoft has left the door open for the bartender-cum-assassin to return, this time to the all new location of the Caribbean.

Taken from the Assassin’s Creed website, Ubisoft invites players to form a ‘lawless republic’ in the ‘golden age of piracy’, playing as Edward Kenway – the grandfather of Assassin’s Creed III protagonist Connor Kenway.

There is still a shroud of mystery of just how they will incorporate the new protagonist into the existing present-day storyline surrounding the first civilisation.

And on the topic of the first civilisation, the true intentions of Juno are yet to be revealed given the almost cliffhanger ending that we were left with at the end of Assassin’s Creed III.

After five renditions on the major consoles all scoring well, it’s a no-brainer that again the Assassin’s Creed brand will deliver.

It is widely expected we’ll find out more in the coming months before launch, after the launch trailer (see below) was leaked early.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is due for release on all consoles and PC on November 1st.
