Floyd Mayweather produced yet another clinical and tactical performance as he remained undefeated following a unanimous decision victory over fellow great Manny Pacquiao in their massive boxing match in Las Vegas on Sunday.
The 38-year-old American who entered the fight dubbed ‘the fight of the century’ as the favourite showed his class and his tactical awareness as he moved to 48-0 following his victory over the 36-year-old Pacquiao.
In the fight that was worth $300 million (Mayweather as per the deal would take $180 million whilst Pacquiao earned $120 million) it was the American who came out victorious following the bout which went the distance.
Mayweather who won the welterweight world championship with his victory was adjudged to have won the fight by the three judges who each scored the fight 116-112 in favour of the American.
The MGM Grand in Las Vegas was packed to the rafters for this massive fight. But after so much hype leading up it failed to deliver as both fighters were cagey, especially Mayweather who waited patiently for Pacquiao to make a move before he counter-attacked with a punch of his own.
Pacquiao threw more punches then Mayweather, but the American was more efficient as he had a greater percentage of landing his punches. That was a major factor in the end as he once again left the ring victorious.
