US President Donald Trump has announced that a date and location for his highly anticipated meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
The pair will meet on May 22nd, and while the meeting place has not been publically confirmed, it is expected to be in the DMZ, or in Singapore.
The Peace House in the DMZ was used as the meeting place for Kim and South Korean President Moon Jae-in last month.
A New York Times report was released saying Trump was considering lowering troop numbers in South Korea, which has been denied by the Trump administration.
“Now, I have to tell you, at some point into the future, I would like to save the money. But troops are not on the table.” Trump said.
A meeting between Mr Moon and Mr Trump has been announced to take place before Mr Trump meets Mr Kim.
The meeting will take place in the White House on May 22, and was announced after a meeting between Mr Trump’s national security adviser and his South Korea counterpart.
