A 16 year old boy has died and his two passengers hospitalized after crashing their car into a tree after a police a police chase in Perth’s east.
The Red Nissan Pulsar led police on a chase through Perth that started in Lockridge and ended in Mundaring sometime after 5:30pm.
Police began following the car on Altone Road in Lockridge but called off the pursuit due to dangerous driving conditions.
The Nissan Pulsar pushed through traffic before hitting a Volkswagen Golf at an intersection. Causing minor damage to the Golf but not injuring the driver.
Police then resumed the chase, deploying stingers to stop the vehicle, but then were forced to call off the chase again due to the danger to civilians by the fleeing vehicle.
A short while late the car crashed into a tree. Killing the 16-year-old while trapping and injuring his two passengers.
An 18-year-old woman and another 16-year-old boy were eventually freed from the wreck and are now both in a stable condition in Royal Perth Hospital.
