A raid by WA Police in Perth’s south has uncovered prohibited firearms and illicit drugs in the home of 56 year old Beeliar man.
Fremantle detectives made the discovery as a result of investigation into allegations of a person modifying blank and replica firearms converting them to fire live ammunition.
Police searched the home on Pearse road in Beeliar during which they located and seized 15 handguns, four of which had been fully converted to fire live ammunition. Among other prohibited weapons, they seized 1000 rounds of ammunition and equipment to modify firearms illegally.
The suspect is facing multiple charges including 13 counts of unlicensed possession of firearms, and 4 counts of possession of prohibited weapons. Detectives have also charged the man with possession of prohibited drugs and drug paraphernalia.
The Beeliar man is due to appear in Fremantle Magistrate Court on the 19th of December.
