So it happens, no one is above speeding laws in Western Australia… Not even Police Commissioner Chris Dawson.
It was recorded on the 28th of September that Mr Dawson was travelling at 59km/h, exceeding the 50km/h limit on Plain Street in East Perth, whilst on route to the National Police Remembrance Day Service at the Police Academy in Joondalup.
Mr Dawson said as soon as he received the infringement, he paid the $100 fine.
There were no demerit points associated with the fine.
Mr Dawson acknowledged his mistake and is very aware of the consequences of speeding.
“Speeding is a focus of our traffic enforcement, and this reinforces that no one is immune from being caught,” he said.
