Police Car Search Yields Drugs in Traffic Stop

WA Police have allegedly uncovered a quantity of drugs during a routine traffic stop in Eglinton.

Police were patrolling Marmion Avenue on 10 April when they stopped a Mitsubishi Lancer at 10:20am carrying a 27-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman.

It will be alleged, officers located and seized approximately 18 grams of MDMA and 6 grams of Methylamphetamine.

The man from Yanchep has been charged with possession of MDMA with intent to sell or supply, possession of MDMA and Cannabis, possessing a controlled weapon, ready access to weapons.

He was also charged with failing to comply with a requirement given by an officer.

He appeared in Joondalup Magistrates Court today.

Meanwhile, the woman from Butler has been charged with possession of Methylamphetamine.

She is due to appear in Joondalup Magistrates Court on 24 April.
