Kerry Sanderson has been appointed as the new Chair of St John of God Health Care Board.
Ms Sanderson will replace Tony Howarth AO from May 1, who is stepping down after 14 years of leadership after concluding her three and half year term as governor.
“Kerry has excellent credentials to lead out organisation as we continue in our Mission to offer hospitality, hope and healing through the care we provide,” St John of God Health Care Chairman of Trustees Eva Skira said.
“She has an impeccable record for service to the community at the most senior levels in Western Australia.”
Ms Sanderson has had extensive previous experience in business and public service, previously a member of the St John of God Health Care board from 2012 until 2014, chairing the Audit and Risk Committee while serving on other Committees.
“She has extensive board experience, including at St John of God Health Care, and her existing knowledge and experience of the organisation will allow her to assist a new incoming Group CEO, following the departure of Dr Michael Stanford.”
Ms Sanderson said she was excited to be working with the St John of God health Care Trustees and Board.
“St John off God Health Care is an iconic healthcare institution with a long tradition and I’m delighted to be returning to the board as Chair.”
Ms Skira thanked Mr Howarth for his contribution to St John of God.
“Tony has been a dynamic Chair and led the board with vision and dedication. He leaves behind a strong and committed board. Under his stewardship, St John of God Health Care has grown significantly to become a major player in the national health sector.”
