A scrub fire that occurred in East Rockingham on Wednesday December 13th, has detectives from the Arson Squad’s Strike Force Vulcan seeking assistance from the public.
The fire in question is being treated as suspicious.
Around 2:50pm, Strike Force Vulcan Officers and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services were called to the fire bushland near Patterson and Office Roads.
There was a group of five youths seen walking away from the fire, along Wellard Road towards Kwinana, immediately after.
Detectives wish to speak to the youths in the photos attached.
They are described as being 14 to 20 years of age, with fair skin. One was wearing a bike helmet with his face covered by a bandana.
Any suspicious people, vehicles or activity around the vicinity between 2pm and 4pm is asked to be reported to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au. Callers may remain anonymous if they wish.
Rewards of up to $50,000 are available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
