Mirrabooka Detectives have charged a 21 year old man with a variety of offences, after he stole a vehicle and evaded police.
It is alleged Police attempted to stop the driver, but he failed to do so and accelerated away.
Driving in a reckless manner from Morley throughout the Northern Suburbs, Police were able to apprehend the driver after he abandoned the vehicle upon striking a letterbox in Carine.
Throughout the incident officers on the ground were assisted by Police Air Wing.
The 21 year old Leda man was charged with various offences. They include:
Aggravated Burglary, Stealing, Steal Motor Vehicle, Steal Motor Vehicle and drive recklessly, Fail to Compy with Direction to stop (aggravated), Reckless Driving (to escape pursuit), Fail to comply with direction to stop, Exceed Speed Limit in School Zone, No Authority to Drive, Disguised to commit offence (wearing bandana to disguise face during incident), Driver fail to stop at T/A (property damage), Fail to Comply with request to give personal details, and Damaging Monitoring equipment
He appeared before the Joondalup Magistrates Court today.
