Police have charged a man involved in an armed robbery in Heathridge during February.
A man in his 20s was walking with a friend along Eddystone Avenue at around 5:40am on Saturday 17 February, when a dark blue Subaru Liberty containing two men pulled up alongside them.
Police will allege the driver got out of the car and threatened one of the men with a tomahawk.
The driver then struck the man with the handle of the tomahawk, knocking his mobile phone out of his hand.
It is also alleged the attacker took the man’s phone before getting back in the car and driving away.
Inquiries from Joondalup Detectives led police to a home in Craigie, where the man was apprehended.
Police have charged the 23-Year-old Osborne Park man with aggravated burglary, breach of bail, no authority to drive, failure to comply with direction to stop and reckless driving to escape pursuit by police.
He faced Perth Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
Inquiries are continuing and police are asking for anyone with information about the incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
