Tuesday the 13th brings us the 7th annual World Radio Day. A day dedicated to appreciating the power that radio has to connect, entertain, and educate us.
World Radio Day 2018 has taken the theme of sport to commemorate 2018’s exciting sporting events.
The event will focus on the common thread that both sport and radio have to inspire inclusion and participation.
Radio stations intend to give these stories a platform and for stations and listeners to construct their programs around the conversations of radio and sports.
It will celebrate how sport emboldens and strengthen our communities and character. As well as how sports help us overcome problems such as gender stereotypes and provide role models for children all around the world.
6EBA FM Station Manager Paul Pearman encourages people to involve themselves as much as they can during the day,
“Come in, have a look around, listen, turn on the radio, ring in, ask questions,” he said.
