Almost 4kgs of methylamphetamine, more than 3kgs of heroin and about $370,000 cash have been seized during searches across Perth.
Detective Senior Sergeant, Peter Healy said, “these seizures came as a result of a lengthy investigation into illicit drug dealing in our community.”
Organised Crime Squad detectives stopped a vehicle on Russell Street in Morley on Sunday and seized 492g of meth, resulting in a 32-year old Morley man being arrested and charged.
A 26-year old man from NSW, was also arrested in Morley after officers found 250g of meth and $20,000 cash inside a car he was driving on Drake Street.
Searches conducted by detectives included homes in Drake Street, Morley, Pollard Street, Glendalough, and Hay Street, East Perth. The unit on Hay Street is where officers seized 3.28kgs of meth, over 3kg of heroin and about $350,000 cash, along with other paraphernalia.
The 32-year old man was charged with three counts of possessing a prohibited drug, cannabis, methylamphetamine, and heroin. Two counts of possessing stolen or unlawfully obtained property, the cash. One count of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of possessing a prohibited drug with the intent to sell or supply.
The 26-year old man was charged with one count of possessing a prohibited drug with the intend to sell or supply, and one count of possessing stolen or unlawfully obtained property, the cash.
Both men have appeared in the Perth Magistrates Court, and have been remanded in custody.
