Man Charged With Stalking of 12-Year-Old Girl in Butler

Joondalup Detectives have charged a 37-year-old man following an alleged stalking incident involving a 12-year-old girl in Butler.

Between 3:00pm and 4:30pm, the girl was walking along Lukin Drive when she noticed a white Holden Commodore was keeping pace alongside her.

The man was inside the car allegedly filming her on his mobile phone when she saw him and sought help from a member of the public.

The car was also seen in the carpark of the shopping centre on the corner of Connolly and Lukin Drive.

After inquires by police, the man was apprehended and his vehicle was searched with police locating two mobile phones.

Images on the phones led to a search warrant being carried out at the man’s home in Yangebup where police seized a number of electronic storage devices.

Analysis of these devices is currently underway.

The man has been charged with aggravated stalking.

He appeared in Joondalup Magistrates Court today, Tuesday, 15th March 2018.
