A man has been charged with several offences after failing to stop for Police and collided with another vehicle in Malaga yesterday.
Police attempted to stop a BMW sedan at around 11:15AM on Wellington Road in Morley. Police activated flashing lights and sirens requesting the drivers to stop, however it is alleged that the male driver accelerated away.
Police further alleged that the BMW rammed a police car in Beach Road, after evading police from Morley to Malaga.
The driver lost control of the vehicle, went over the median strip, hit a grass tree beforegoing onto the wrong side of the road and crashed into a Hyundai.
The male driver and male passenger on the Hyundai were injured.
A 24 year oldAveley man has been arrested on the scene, he has been charged with the following offences.
- No Authority to drive – Cancelled.
- Driver of a vehicle failed to comply with a direction to stop (circumstances of aggravation).
- Reckless driving to escape pursuit by police.
- 2 x Dangerous driving causing bodily harm in circumstances of aggravation.
The BMW driver, the Hyundai driver and passenger were taken to Royal Perth Hospital with minor injuries.
The man remains in hospital and he appeared in Perth Magistrates Court today through a bedside hearing.
