A man has been charged by Perth Detectives after an incident in Maylands yesterday afternoon.
Police received multiple calls over a disturbance at a unit complex around 2:45pm. Information reported a a man repeatedly striking a security door with an axe and a knife, causing damage to the security door and wooden door behind it.
Officers arrived at a nearby unit where the man was believed to be. No response was received when attempts were made to speak to the man.
The Tactical Response Group were also called to the scene and arrested the 28 year old man without incident, after no response from a negotiator attempting to speak to him.
The residence was searched and an axe and a knife were seized.
A 28 year old man from Maylands has been charged with:
– Being armed in a way that may cause fear
– Criminal Damage or Destruction of Property
– Breach of protective bail conditions
He was refused bail and is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today.
