Man Arrested After Girrawheen Break-In

A man who stole a Holden utility during home invasion and assault in Girrawheen has been arrested after a police chase.

Police located the 24-year-old man in a while Holden Maloo ute after spotting it in Yew Court, Mirrabooka and giving chase through several suburbs.

A witness said up to 14 police cars were involved as the Holden sped through Malaga and Dianella before crashing on Guildford Road in Guildford.

It came after the man entered a house on Mirrabooka Avenue at 1:40am after smashing a rear glass door.

He searched through the home before exiting through the rear door after locating a set of car keys.

A woman at the home heard the noise and confronted man outside where she was hit in the head with a blunt object before fleeing in her ute.

She received injuries to her face and arms and was taken to hospital for treatment.

A short time later, a home on St Albans Road in Nollamara was broken into.

A person smashed a window and entered the home, but fled after being yelled at by the occupants.

A Holden Maloo utility was seen driving in the area around this time with the headlights off.

The man has not yet been charged and is assisting police with inquiries.
