Labor promises new library for Harrisdale

The Federal Opposition has made reading and learning a priority in WA with promise to building a new library in Harrisdale if it is elected at the federal election.

Labor will provide $2.5 million for the library near the new Stockland Harrisdale Shopping Centre that will be operational by 2021, that will accommodate a wide range of library and community programs and activities.

The library is part of Labor’s commitment for a fair go for new suburbs, to ensure people are able to access facilities as more established suburbs

It adds to Labor’s previous commitments of duplicating Armadale Road, the new Armadale road bridge at the Freeway and $300,000 in funding to local groups as part of the Stronger Communities grants.
