Elderly Man Killed in Thornlie House Fire

A man and a child have died and a child in hospital following a house fire in Thornlie Last night.

WA Police advised the Department of Fire and Emergency Services of the fire in Rushbrook Way at about 6:15pm and attended the scene.

The fire was extinguished.

A 69-year-old man and a four-year-old boy was found unconscious in a bedroom of the house after the fire was extinguished.

They were taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital for treatment, however the man was pronounced dead shortly after.

The boy was transferred to Perth Children’s Hospital where he passed away on Thursday early evening.

The Coronial Inquiry Section is investigating with the assistance of the Arson Squad and a report is being prepared for the Coroner.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
