Four more Palestinians dead as Gaza protests resume

Four Palestinians were killed and hundreds more injured in protests when Israeli troops opened fire with live ammunition and tear gas.

One Palestinian man, Haitham Abu Sabla was put on life support after a tear gas canister became embedded in his face.

Israel claims the extreme measures were deployed against the crowd in an attempt to defend the frontier against crowds that threw stones and burned tyres while attempting to cross.

There are reports of at least two Palestinians militants opening fire against the Israeli troops, while others threw hand grenades.

Three adult men and a 15 year old boy were killed in the fighting, with 620 more injured, including 120 from live fire.

124 Palestinians have now lost their lives in border protests at Gaza since the protesting started on March 30.

Palestine claims the protests are an attempt to regain land lost when the state of Israel was formed, while Israel maintains the protests are organised by Hamas to try provoke tensions in the region.
