Drugs, Weapons Seized In Police Stop and Search

A Kenwick man has been charged for drugs possession after a stop and search in Balcatta.

At around 10am on 6 November, Fremantle Detectives witnessed a Kawasaki motorcycle at the intersection of Wanneroo Road and Amelia Street allegedly contravene a red traffic signal.

Officers drove in the general direction that the motorcycle had travelled and found the motorcycle and the male rider at a residence in Collier Avenue in Balcatta.

They searched the rider and allegedly located and seized a quantity of Methylamphetamine.

Fremantle Detectives executed a search warrant on the residence with the assistance of Mirrabooka and Morley Police.

It is alleged that police found and seized a loaded handgun, Cannabis and a range of drug paraphernalia.

The 38-year-old man has been charged with possessing a firearm with circumstances of aggression, possessing a prohibited drug, reckless driving, no authority to drive and stealing.

He will appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on 7 November.
