Police have arrested and charged three men a large haul of drugs were seized during raids in Perth targeting a “suspected criminal network”.
Organised Crime Squad detectives carried out the drug busts on City Beach, West Leederville, Gnangara, Applecross, Madeley, Dayton and Ascot homes, alleging drugs worth $33 million and cash at the homes.
Police allege large amounts of illicit drugs and other items of interest were located at City Beach, West Leederville and Gnangara.
They seized approximately 32 kg of methylamphetamine, 1.8kg of cocaine, 300g of MDMA, three firearms, ammunition and more than $800,000 in cash.
Approximately $50,000 in cash was found at the Dayton address.
“This is a large amount of drugs, but we’re not going to keep a scorecard,” Assistant Police Commissioner Michelle Fyfe said.
“This is a large amount of drugs, its 320 hits of meth that have been taken off our streets.”
Police have charged three men including a 27-year-old from Dayton, a 23-year-old from Applecross and a 27-year-old man from West Leederville with 22 drugs and weapons charges as a result of the raids.
Both men were refused bail and appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
They are next due to appear in court on Tuesday November 21.
The 27-year-old man from West Leederville also appeared in the Perth Magistrates Court on Tuesday and will appear in court on December 5.
A fourth man arrested as part of the raids but suffered a cardiac arrest in police presence.
Paramedics attempted to revive the 27-year-old but he later died at Royal Perth Hospital.
The coroner is investigating his death and it is being treated as a death in custody.
